Equifest demonstrations showcase multiple equine disciplines in a fun, educational and interactive way. Demonstrations are organised by professionals and clubs who are passionate about sharing their skills and talents.
Born to Run Adventure Racing
Come meet the team, get tips for helping prevent laminitis and giving your miniature horse the best quality of life.
Theres even a chance for the kids to have a go running with some of the race team!
Distance Riding NZ
Distance Riding is a competition that tests the rider's ability to safely manage the stamina and fitness of their horse against the climate, the terrain, and the clock.
Come learn how to get started in endurance, the different classes and gear used, and how to strap. We will also discuss the vetting process and explain how we ride a track.
Kapiti Equestrian & Vaulting Club
Vaulting is best described as gymnastics on the back of a moving horse, which is worked on a circle, under the control of a lunger.
Come and witness head coach Catarina and the team as they showcase vaulting, which is becoming popular in New Zealand.
NZ Cowboy Challenge Assn
The New Zealand Cowboy Challenge Association will showcase their sport, demonstrating the training and partnership between horse and rider as they negotiate a series of obstacles.
Working Equitation NZ Inc,
Daily working Equitation demonstrations will take place at Equifest, along with a competition that will take place on Saturday at Equifest. The competition will include three phases, Flatwork, Ease of Handling and Speed.
Horowhenua & Districts Harness Driving
Along with featuring in Friday's Nightshow, the scurrying team will showcase their sport with daily demos.
New Zealand Side Saddle Assoc
We’ve all seen period movies with elegantly dressed ladies riding side saddle across the English countryside. Now is your chance to view a side saddle demonstration up close and learn about the art of side-saddle riding.
Mentoring
This year’s participants will be in good hands. They will receive two mentoring sessions with Kelly Wilson, Ellie Harrison, and Hannah Catalino during Equifest. These sessions will provide them with the support and guidance they need to navigate the Equifest performance environment.
Quadrille Riding
This talented quadrille team will dazzle us with their choreographed ride, perfectly blending equestrian elegance and rhythm in Saturday's NSC Festival of Fun Nightshow! They will also be doing demos on Friday and Saturday.
