Equifest competitions are fast-paced and provide a great spectacle for visitors.
For competitors competing is also a great way to put your skills to the test in a fun and supportive environment. With great prize money up for grabs and an exciting schedule of ESNZ series and support classes - there are plenty of reasons to enter and be part of the Equifest action.

Jumping is a true test of speed and accuracy as horse and rider navigate the course under conditions and obstacles, involving many turns and changes of direction. Equifest features ESNZ series classes and support classes.
Taking place on Sunday, the Prestige Equestrian Eventing Challenge – 0.95m Cross Country + 1.10m Show Jumping and the Reyna Equestrian Eventing Challenge –1.05m Cross Country + 1.20m Show Jumping.
NZPCA is part of the International Virtual Showjumping Competition with Pony Clubs from around the world. Members will represent New Zealand Pony Club in this event that will be featured at Equifest on Sunday.
The Waikato District Farrier Competition will showcase the craftsmanship of Farriers from all over New Zealand.
The Judge's clinic will be held on Friday by experienced Farrier and Judge Matt Bilderbeck. Matt joins us from Australia to demonstrate and pass on his knowledge to the competitors.
On Saturday, competitors create shoes specified by their Judge across three classes, Novice, Intermediate and Open.
Sunday will be an exciting day in the marquee, with a variety of horses having their feet shod across three classes.
The Kaimanawa Legacy Foundation is excited to announce the invitational Kaimanawa Legacy Freestyle, in which the nation’s top Kaimanawa horses will compete in a spirited freestyle routine.
The line-up will include some of the nation’s leading trainers, crowd favourites from the Stallion Challenges and wild card competitors, all with one goal in mind: to showcase the versatility and trainability of New Zealand’s wild horses.
Along with this competition, Kaimanawa Legacy Foundation will offer demonstrations and seminars to promote the 2024 Kaimanawa Horse Muster.
After your first day at Equifest, sit back and watch the thrilling sports of barrel racing in Friday's Festival of Speed, Presented by Wade Equine Coaches. The epic rivalry will be heightened by the awesome atmosphere of a large crowd with special sound and lighting effects in the Equifest indoor arena.
Set to be a new feature at Equifest, the Equifest Future Stars Competition encourages entrants to showcase their unique relationship with their horse/s in a creative, meaningful and entertaining way while deepening the level of equine talent in the industry.
