Two nights of evening entertainment will make sure your weekend at Equifest really is a celebration of all things equine.
Friday’s Festival of Speed
Presented by Beyond The Bit
The stage is set for an adrenaline-charged evening, bringing showjumping action, epic rivalries, and fierce competition that will have you cheering from start to finish. Featuring Beyond The Bit pony and horse speed classes, riders test the limits of precision and control. And when you think it can’t get any more exciting, the second half of the evening will see the barrel racers competing through a cloverleaf pattern at speed, followed by the heart-pounding spectacle of scurrying ponies weaving and darting through the arena.
Saturday’s Festival of Fun
Presented by NSC.
This celebration of horsemanship, hosted by the ever-entertaining Dan Steers and Amanda Wilson, is as much about storytelling and connection as it is about skill. The entertainment begins with Joe Gardiner, the Australian trick rider behind Laughing Stock Productions, whose whip-cracking, comedy stunts, and daredevil trick riding promise edge-of-your-seat thrills.
A true highlight of the evening will be Caleb Degen, star of the Australian Outback Spectacular, who is set to deliver a magical liberty performance unlike anything seen at Equifest before — complete with two horses from Equine Films (and whispers of a unicorn making a cameo!).
Adding even more artistry, the Kapiti Vaulting Club will perform an awe-inspiring blend of equestrian vaulting and aerial acrobatics. In a moving display of trust and harmony, Ramona Berndt will perform a liberty act featuring multiple horses. And, as if the evening could not get any more exhilarating, the grand finale brings back the legendary Dan Steers for a performance that leaves audiences in awe every time.
