New Sunday Family Fun

Equifest is set to welcome families in a whole new way this year with the launch of Sunday Family Fun, a fresh addition to the 2025 programme. The initiative has been created to offer an fun-filled day out where families can enjoy the excitement of horses, equestrian sport, and festival entertainment together.

The Sunday Family Pass is priced at just $90 online and includes entry for two adults and two children. Organisers say the pass has been designed to make Equifest more accessible for families, while still delivering the same vibrant atmosphere and variety the festival is known for.

Sunday’s programme will feature a wide range of activities to capture the imagination of children and adults alike. Trick rider Joe Gardiner will showcase his daring stunts.  Another highlight will see Vicki Wilson appear alongside her four-year-old daughter, Charlotte, in a special family presentation that celebrates horsemanship across generations.

Face painters will also be on hand to add a splash of colour and creativity to the day.

The NZ Pony Club Family Zone will offer a range of activities for children and families, including activity workbooks, crafts, and resources. Visitors can also relax, play games, and get creative in a fun, interactive environment.

Families can also look forward to a series of live demonstrations showcasing the diversity of equestrian sport. The Kapiti Equestrian & Vaulting Club, Horowhenua & Districts Harness Driving, and the NZ Polocrosse team are all scheduled to perform, alongside additional displays across the day.

To complement the action, a wide selection of food and beverage vendors will be on site, ensuring plenty of choice for all tastes.

Equifest organisers say Sunday Family Day is all about creating memories. Families are encouraged to secure tickets early, with the Family Pass available online now for $90 saving $35.00.
